Best Homemade Lip Exfolient

Tis the season for dry, cracked, painful lips. I love buying lip exfolient, and found a great one from a popular store that works wonders; however, my wallet can't handle the price. I decided to make my own at home one day, and guess what? It works just as well! So here you go... easiest recipe for this ever...

Recipe
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
2 tablespoons Sugar

Yep. That's it. Just mix it up, and rub it on your lips. You could always add some essential oils if you want a better smell. Wipe it off with a paper towel and put on some lip balm. Goodbye gross winter lips! :) By the way, Spring is near! How is the weather in your town? Michigan has had one of the most mild winters ever! I'm loving it. xoxo

I tried that! -Pinterest Cinnamon Roll Waffle

This morning's endeavor... making those mouth-watering cinnamon rolls cooked on a waffle maker! WOAH! Hold the phone... does that really work? It does! The best part about it? It is so quick! Seriously, just put your cinnamon roll on the waffle maker, shut it, and wait. Just remember: You don't want it to be as crispy as a waffle... so keep the cooking time pretty short. :) This was a great breakfast treat that didn't leave us in a time crunch! Definitely a keeper! I'm not sure who originated this idea... but whoever you are, kudos. You are a genius!

A look into our lives...

My cousin made this little video clip of our wedding. Thought I'd share our special day! Our wedding was at Castle Farms in Charlevoix, MI. Such a beautiful place!

I tried that! Pinterest Pizza

Oh my GOODNESS. Aren't these fantastic? I saw a picture floating around on Pinterest a while ago of pizzas made in muffin tins. Mini deep-dish pizzas? Seriously? There just was not anything not to like. I actually never looked at the recipe on there, and wasn't able to find it again, so I made it up as I went along. By the way... these were awesome! I'm definitely making them again!

Recipe:
1 can of pizza dough (I used Pillsbury)
1 can pizza sauce
Pizza Cheese (Mozzarella)
Pepperoni (whatever toppings you desire!)

Preheat your oven to the temperature recommended on the pizza dough. Spray your muffin pan with cooking spray. Tear off pieces of the dough, and shape them to fit your muffin pan. You might have to play around with it for a bit to get it to keep it's shape! Remember, it rises, so try to push it down. Put the dough in the oven for 3-4 minutes to help it crisp. Remove from oven and pour spoonfuls of the sauce in each mini-pizza. Top with cheese and whatever toppings you picked. Bake according to the directions on the dough. YUM!

Let me know if you have any questions or advice. I loved this recipe!

Meet Lindsey!

I am going to introduce you to someone incredibly special to me: My sister. Lindsey is one of the most beautiful, godly, and funny people I have ever met. Seriously, the girl puts me in my place when I need it, and encourages me when I'm down. She is my little sister, yet I find myself looking up to her more often than not. She always had the cuter clothes, so I willingly accepted any hand-me-downs she would offer (and sometimes wouldn't offer...). She's one of those people who are completely beautiful and are utterly unaware of it. Lindsey is one of the few people who will laugh at all my dumb jokes and completely understand what I was trying to say. When I have some outrageously impossible goal or dream, she's the first one to push me to reach it. I am so blessed to have her in my life!

The Sock Bun

I tried it! I'm sorry for the incredibly blurry picture. Do you know how hard it is to take a cell phone shot of the BACK of your head? Well, I now do. Awesome. My review: It worked pretty well! I was surprised how long it stayed in! It wasn't too hard to make. Basically, you just take a sock (small socks work best) and cut the toe area off so it makes one long tube. Then, you roll it up so it looks like a scrunchy. Pull a pony tail through, and start rolling. YouTube it if you need to see it done. :) It definitely works best with long hair!

If you need a giggle...

Sometimes, I come to the realization that I just don't remember those childhood songs. Bummer.

Shoes, Shoes, SHOES!

I just had to share these lovelies. These were my amazing wedding shoes that I bought in Pink to make sure I'd wear them after the big day. Aren't they gorgeous? If you want this style, they are by Nina and the style is called "Electra". Love, love, LOVE them! :)

Bring On the Butterbeer...

I've seen this recipe floating around on Pinterest for a while now, and decided to give it a try. Here's my review: It wasn't bad, but it wasn't that good either. It was a little TOO sweet for me, and I'm someone with a major sweet tooth! I'm probably not going to make it again, but it was nice for a cold Michigan weekend.

The second recipe I tried was one given to me by my amazing Aunt Brenda. WOW. This one was a winner! It's served cold, and has the most yummy frothy texture. Definitely in love with this one!

Recipe (Makes 2 generous servings):
  • Put 3 cups (add more to get a frothier texture) of vanilla ice cream in the blender
  • Add one tablespoon vanilla
  • Add around 24 ounces cream soda (I used FAYGO brand)
  • Add 1/4 cup butterscotch syrup. (I found mine in the ice cream aisle!)
Blend it all together until smooth, and pour in glasses. Put it freezer for 10 minutes. Drink and ENJOY! :)

First Married Valentine's Day= TOMORROW!

I want to introduce you to my valentine! Meet the Mister. Joe is a Christian-school teacher, a basketball coach, play director, historian, sports enthusiast, amazing cook etc. etc. etc. Seriously, the man does it all! I'm so thankful for him. When they say opposites attract, they must have been talking about us. We seriously are completely different in almost everything. In fact, I know many people that were convinced that we were almost too mismatched to work out. The funny thing is, we match up in all the right ways. I’m obnoxiously cheerful-he’s serious. I’m a terrible cook... he’s practically a chef! Or how about the fact that he’s incredibly motivated... and I’m more on the laid-back side. I like ballet, he likes football. But, you know what? We make it work. We definitely balance each other out. I love him with all my heart, and I’m so thankful that God put him in my life.
